Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a highly influential trend with breakthrough solutions related to the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) ), robots, cloud computing, social networking, digitizing, or big data.

So how is the 4th Industrial Revolution applied to the water sector in Vietnam?

Firstly, we have seen that Vietnam has applied monitoring technology into water treatment plants or environmental departments in the provinces, the essence of this technique is the application of loT by coding the 4-20mA output of sensors or pumping equipment, valves, electrical equipment at the factory with data logger and transmit this signal to the central control station via internet. Then every user can access to smartphone or computer or tablet to know values in water treatment plants such as pH, water level, flow, valve position ...

Nowadays, a number of water pressure or flow velocity gauges have internet connections and loT applications to monitor the amount of water lost or leaking underground.

Depending on the requirements of each project, Vietnam has applied robotic tube welding technology very accurately as well as reduce labor costs a lot.

In addition, some state-of-the-art water treatment plants, such as Intel and Samsung, use state-of-the-art automatic plant control technology and reduce operating costs dramatically.
