In shrimp farming, monitoring dissolved oxygen (DO) levels in ponds plays an important, decisive role in pond culturing and hence, a successful crop. An adequate oxygen supplied throughout the crops leads to well-grown shrimps. Additionally, waste and toxic gases accumulate in pond decompose only in the presence of oxygen, thereby reducing diseases caused by bacteria.
The problem is: how to monitor the exact amount of oxygen in shrimp ponds with high reliability and reasonable price?
Origin Pipe provides the Dissolved Oxygen Meter, which originates in the US, to accurately measure Oxygen concentration in water with enhanced signal stability and quick time response for easy controlling dissolved oxygen in shrimp farming.
Accordingly, the AM-ODO Dissolved Oxygen Sensor using optical sensing technology with dual 4-20mA output. The saturation percentage and concentration in ppm (mg/l) will be used to monitor the DO content. This DO sensor is directly connected to the Controller (OMRON or AM-2300 online controller) located at the onshore control station. There are 4 outputs in this controller connected to water fans or aerators to create oxygen in ponds. These outputs automatically control how the equipment motors operate, namely automatically turn on the blowers when the DO concentration falls below the minimum value (e.g 7 ppm) or shuts down as the DO reaches higher than the maximum value (e.g 12 ppm). Installation of DO concentration is upon customer requirements.
As a result, the DO content in the ponds is usually updated. This helps shrimp farmers to easily and continuously monitor the pond, thereby take timely action when the DO concentration drops below required level.
